Larry Joe Bird is born in December 1956 and is listed at the greatest NBA basketball player of all. His induction to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame was held in 1988. In 1978 he received the sixth overall draft choice, taken by the Boston Celtics, with whom he spent his entire career of 13 years. She played small forward position and power forward for the team. Bird retired as a player in 1992 procedures, taking a position as an assistant in the frontOffice for the Celtics until 1997. At that time he was coach of the Indiana Pacers and remained so until 2000. In 2003 he was appointed president of basketball operations for the Pacers, which he still owns.

He attended Community College for a short stay, then enrolled at Indiana StateUniversity and brought his basketball team to NCAA championships in 1979 (his last year).
